Hourly rate: $300, shared equally between spouses. A typical mediation takes 10-20 hours so budget for $3,000 to $5,000, being $1,500 to $2,500 each and taking 3 to 6 months. 

Remote mediation:

Until the pandemic is behind us, no in-person meetings will be held. All face-to-face contact will be through video services such a FaceTime, Skype, Zoom. 

The process: It starts with one of you calling me. Assuming things point to mediation, we would set up a joint video conference. Once hired and we move onto the next steps:

1. Full financial disclosure
2. Property Division based on a Net Worth Statement
3. Determination of Child and Spousal Support payments
4. Completion of your Separation Plan including a Parenting Plan

Your Separation Plan will typically be 10-15 pages of text and a Net Worth spreadsheet. The Plan will describe how each account and issue has been resolved - financial and parenting. 

The Covid 19 crisis will be hard on self-isolating couples. How to find some space when under the same roof? What about the kids? Should we wait until the crisis is over? So we have a safety plan? Call me to discuss, that costs nothing.
